African American Museum of Nassau County
Offers a variety of programs, from guided tours and film screenings, to hands-on craft activities and theme workshops. Explore all aspects of African American history, from music and art, to major figures. Groups can delve into Hidden History, a program examining the lesser-known inventors, creators, and leaders of African heritage. Elementary-aged groups may want to focus on the Children’s March program, which focuses on the history of kids’ participation in the Civil Rights Movement.
