USM Southworth Planetarium
Whether it’s discovering the origins of flight or learning about telescopes, the Southworth Planetarium will help your students reach for the stars. Call in advance for a matinee or book a show of your choice. Students can travel back in time when they see “Dinosaurs at Dusk” with computer-animated dinosaurs roaring, flying, hunting, and stomping. Meet “The Little Star That Could,” as he searches for other planets, explore the solar system with “Rusty Rocket,” or discover telescopes with “Two Small Pieces of Glass.” Each show begins with a discussion and ends with a guided tour of the stars and planets that includes time for a Q&A. Contact Edward Gleason at 207-780-4249 to schedule a “stellar” camp group trip.
